| Belief,
true belief, will translate into action. We demonstrate our belief
by putting into practice right things. (Matthew 7:21)
Here are some ways that we, as a congregation, are trying to do
“the will of the Father who is in Heaven.”
Bible Study
We have Bible classes available for all ages on Sunday mornings
and Wednesday evenings. An attended nursery is available during
our worship services. The first full week of June each year, we
have a morning Vacation Bible School for young babies through
high school students. This is a time of Bible learning, fun and
enjoyment. Puppets and crafts are enjoyable aspects of this annual
program. Your children are truly welcome!
Youth Development
We participate in a leadership development program called
Lads to Leaders. Our young people develop and use a variety of
skills in this program from speech and song leading to art and
photography. Included in this program is an annual trip to the
national convention in Nashville.
We value the development of our youth. Our teenagers are actively
involved in a variety of activities through the year, including
youth rallies, devotionals and an annual week of summer camp.
Included in these activities is an annual Youth Day the first
Saturday in March, hosted by the Cottondale congregation.
Family
Ties
We have an active visitation program
which provides service and fellowship opportunities for our members.
Many of our adult members are active participants in this program.
We are involved in visits, phone calls and the writing of cards.
This work helps keep our “family” together and growing.
College Students
As you probably know, many young people make their way to Tuscaloosa
to begin their college pursuit. Perhaps that’s true of you!
We have an active, growing ministry for our college students.
You will be made welcome by the college group and the members
of the congregation. Regular Bible studies, classes, service activities
and social opportunities are “staples” for this group.
Mission
Field
We are actively involved in mission work, both locally and globally.
We are thankful to be involved in campaign work here in our area,
as well as other locations. We believe you will find this congregation
to be very interested in the souls of man. Certainly, that includes
your soul. We welcome the opportunity to study the Bible with
anyone interested. (Luke 19:10)
